MFA responds to updated FCA proposal to publicise enforcement investigations

London, U.K. — MFA issued the following statement in response to the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) proposal to publicise enforcement investigations into regulated firms:

“MFA appreciates the FCA’s serious consideration of the potential unintended consequences of the proposal in response to extensive feedback. We remain concerned that the modified proposal could result in significant reputational harm for asset managers even if the investigation subsequently concludes there was no wrongdoing. MFA will continue to work constructively with the FCA to ensure that the UK remains an attractive hub for alternative asset managers.” — Rob Hailey, MFA Managing Director, Head of EMEA Government Affairs
